Harvesting Honey

The other Sunday our dear friends from church brought their honey extractor and we were able to harvest our first batch of honey! We only did 5 frames and got 3 and half quart jars full of the prettiest, sweetest honey ever!

Proverbs 24:13-14
Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

Psalms 19:9-10
The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.

  3. Looks good tasting. We sometimes get local honey, and it's really good, especially when it's got little bits of honey comb you can chew on. I always wondered what locusts and honey taste like, but my dad wont let me eat locusts! Oh well, though I had found some nice locust recipes.

Also I would like to better see how a honey extractor works (though I think I got the idea from the picture). Does brand new honey taste better than older honey?
